Jennifer Hudson working on new music and film

J. Hud is not only infront of the camera in South Africa this month, the Grammy Award winning diva is also recording her sophomore album !

Working "overtime," Hudson gave us an update this week, revealing that she's working on 'Winnie' during the day and hitting the studio 'at night'.

"Hi!! Haven't checked in with you guys in awhile. Working overtime in South Africa right now - Winnie movie by day, hot new album by night," Hudson wrote Monday. "In the studio right now with @thelarryjackson ( Larry Jackson) and Harvey Mason in Johannesburg cookin' up somethin' real HOT! Can't wait for you to hear it."

Jennifer Hudson has begun filming scenes for 'Winnie,' a film based on the life of Winnie Mandela, ex-wife of Nelson Mandela. Her album, untitled at this point, is slated for release fall 2010

En Vogue New Album Due Later This Year

En Vogue are putting finishing touches on a new recently recorded Album. I think we can expect this around Fall/Winter. This album should have been out years ago but everytime they would get in the studio, Dawn would leave the group. They have been back together for 2 years now touring the country, I think Dawn sees where the money is and this time it should work and we should FINALLY get a album.

EXCLUSIVE: Fantasia ALBUM Preview

I recently posted Fanny's album cover and tracklisting for her new album "Back To Me" coming in July. Well, now we have a preview of every track on the album. This sounds like an album that you will be able to listen to all the way through without skipping a track. Give me this album now!!!!

There is drama in the Jackson Family

In an interview with News of the World (NOTW), Joe contends that as a mother Katherine could have intervened over Michael's prescription drug abuse. As a son, Michael would have listened to her.

"As a mother…a mother is always the one a son looks up to," Joe says.

Joe claims he advised Katherine to spend time with Michael, but she declined saying she didn't want to intrude into Michael's private life.

Following Michael's death, when Joe saw Katherine crying inconsolably at the hospital, Joe was "mad at her" because he had been urging Katherine to get Michael into rehab for months.

"I said, 'If you had listened to me Michael would be living now!' I kept thinking about the times I had stood in front of her saying something was wrong," says Joe.

This seems to have really pissed off the family (and rightfully so). Randy commented onthe situation of course siding with Katherine and soon after Janet did something she never does, she talked about this very personal situation publicly on Twitter to her brother Randy.

Janetjackson " It's time the fans know the truth and ur one of the very few I trust n doing so. I got ur back all the way bro, whatever u need. I love u!
1 minute ago via web"

JanetJackson "Hey @randyjackson8, I want tell u that I saw ur piece on cnn and I thought u were great! "

When janet says "few" it's pretty obvious she is talking about the family and how certain individuals deal with things and Randy is obviously one of the few she trust with handling business about the family. Im pretty sure it was a slight dig a Joseph if not others. I hope the family works everything out

Jaden Smith's Karate Kid opens @ #1

For the first time since summer movie season started, Hollywood got some good news it didn't expect.

"The Karate Kid" was not only a major hit in its own right, but it also came in $20 million above the highest expectations based on pre-release tracking. The movie opened at 56 million, those our Will Smith type numbers, Jaden is definitely on the road to taking after his father.

Since the first weekend of May, the start of the four-month period during which movies studios release many of their biggest films and collect 40% of the year's box office, there has been one big -- as expected -- hit ("Iron Man 2") and a string of disappointments or flops, such as "Robin Hood," "Shrek Forever After," "Prince of Persia" and "Sex and the City 2." Total summer box-office receipts were down 4%, and attendance was down 10%.

Whitney is packing on the pounds

Things have been a lil sour for Whitney these past couple of months. People are walking out of her concerts because she sounds so bad and now it looks like her and Aretha will be shopping in the same sections pretty soon. At least she is gaining and not losing, I guess.

Phylicia Rashad puts the "act" in Acting on the set of Tyler's new movie

This is one of our legends and she has not lost it. Just watching this gets me excited for the film. Notice Janet Jackson by the car and Loretta Devine getting out the truck in this scene. Tyler Perry's "For Colored Girls" started shooting last week and when shooting in New York it's very different than shooting in Hollywood, there is no closed set or stage, you are forced to shoot in front of the people in the streets and obviously with this video they are able to capture anything.

Vanessa Williams moving to Wisteria Lane?

I don't watch the show but I know the last time a black woman was apart of the show (Alfre Woodard) the audience did not enjoy it. I think this is a good move and with Vanessa being apart of another former hit ABC show "Ugly Betty", people will enjoy this addition.

Show chief Marc Cherry told TV Guide Magazine's Will Keck that he just signed Vanessa Williams. They just closed a deal this morning for the Ugly Betty star to join the show as a series regular in the fall.

"I'm a big fan of Vanessa's work and I'm so excited that she'll be moving into the neighborhood next season to cause trouble in all the ladies' lives," says Cherry

Megan Fox out of Transformers 3 Kym Whitley in?

The robots have kicked Megan Fox to the curb - or did the sexy starlet ditch them?

The dark-haired beauty, who has graced dozens of magazine covers since her breakout role in the first "Transformers" film in 2007, has been dumped from its second sequel.

Paramount Pictures has reported that they have opted not to pick up Fox's option for "Transformers 3 Fox likely earned Bay's wrath in September when she publically slammed the high-octane director, comparing him to Adolf Hitler.

"[Michael] wants to create this insane, infamous mad-man reputation," she told Wonderland Magazine. "He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he's a nightmare to work for."

Fox did note, however, that off the set he was nicer to be with.

"When you get him away from set, and he's not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he's so awkward, so hopelessly awkward," she said. "He's vulnerable and fragile in real life and then on set he's a tyrant."

"She says some very ridiculous things," Bay responded at the time. "And she still has a lot of growing up to do. You roll your eyes when you see statements like that and think, 'Okay Megan, you can do whatever you want.'"

However, Fox's dismissals comes as something of a surprise, since Bay suggested on his blog in October that he was looking forward to working with her again.

In related news, actress/comedienne Kym Whitley posted on Twitter yesterday that she's part of the cast. "Working on Transformers 3 today, a little nervous...always when starting a new project. I have said the Lords prayer 12 times," she said.

For Colored Girls begins shooting Day 1 with Janet, Whoopi, and Kimberly Elise

From the looks of it Janet is playing "Lady In Red", the character whose children get thrown out the window by her boyfriend (thats all I know about that character). Kimberly Elise is portraying "Lady In Brown" and Whoopi (what she got on? LOL) must be portraying "Lady In White" but there is no "Lady In White" in the book so thats throwing me off a bit. Hopefully more pictures from set soon.
